June is National Men's Health Month. Men's Health Week is celebrated during the week leading up to and including Father's Day and serves as a time to raise awareness of preventable health problems and encourage early detection and treatment of disease among men. One of those diseases is prostate cancer.

In the video, Dr. Xinglei Shen, a specialist in prostate cancer at The University of Kansas Health System, outlines things every man should know about prostate cancer. He says it’s one of the most common kinds of cancers, and is very curable. He says much has changed in its treatment, in just the last five years. Dr. Shen explains why getting a second opinion is so important, and just as important as getting treated at a National Cancer Institute designated facility such as The University of Kansas Cancer Center. He says patients there have access to treatments today that will be available to others years from now.
